W5: Personal Utopia: Designing Your Ideal Society

 A World Without Anxiety💘💘

As we grow older, various of emotions begin to surface within us. It's much like the newly released movie, Inside Out 2, where adolescence brings along anxiety, envy, embarrassment, and ennui, enriching the protagonist's inner life. In reality, the emotion I resonate with the most is anxiety. As we mature and take on more responsibilities, we face daily anxiety over assignments, finances, marriage, children, and more, I often ponder what kind of world would be a utopia for me. Perhaps, at this stage in my life, a world without anxiety would be an ideal place.

Governance

Governments around the world must work to eliminate the wealth gap, ensuring fair distribution of resources and opportunities. This would alleviate the economic pressures that make people feel suffocated. Citizens should have the chance to vote on key issues and participate in regular town hall meetings before significant projects are implemented. This way, everyone would have a voice and a role in decision-making, fostering a sense of ownership. For instance, people wouldn’t need to worry about exorbitant consumption taxes, as all decisions would be negotiable.

Education

In today's world, we are constantly told that higher education sets us apart, creating immense pressure on students. In a new world, I believe we should repeal the examination system to alleviate anxiety over rankings. Habits should be cultivated from a young age, so in this new education system, schools should help students understand that grades are not everything.

Schools should also provide regular counseling sessions, teaching emotional management and mental health from a young age. Additionally, personalized learning plans based on each student’s interests and abilities would help them find their best path forward. This would reduce unnecessary competition and pressure, allowing children to grow in a more nurturing environment.

Healthcare

A comprehensive healthcare system would provide peace of mind, as nothing is more important than our health. Around the world, many countries have exorbitant medical costs, leading to preventable deaths. In my ideal world, all medical expenses would be covered by the government, and private hospitals wouldn’t be allowed. This would ensure efficiency and fairness, as public hospitals often lag behind private ones in terms of service quality. Ensuring everyone has access to quality healthcare would significantly reduce the anxiety associated with medical expenses.

Environmental Sustainability

In this new world, we should focus less on constructing skyscrapers and more on developing green spaces and recreational areas like parks and protected forests. Have you ever felt small and tense when surrounded by tall buildings? In contrast, being in the countryside or nature helps us relax. Promoting eco-friendly lifestyles and reducing pollution would create a safe and clean environment, significantly boosting happiness. People wouldn't have to worry about living in unsafe or unclean conditions, leading to a higher quality of life.

Community Life

Increasing incidents of fraud, abduction, and crime have made our society wary and distrustful. Parents often teach their children not to trust strangers. In my ideal world, harsher penalties for criminals and increased police presence would be crucial as I hope people can trust stranger more, because still got a lot of people who are kind in this world.

Moreover, regular community events like get-togethers or sports competitions would promote health and encourage people to lower their guards. Society should also embrace diversity and inclusivity, reducing prejudice and discrimination. By fostering a harmonious social atmosphere, we can address sensitive issues like religion more constructively. A supportive community can alleviate much of the social anxiety we experience.

Conclusion

My utopian dream is a world without anxiety, I want everyone to live happily without constant worries. While anxiety can be uncomfortable, it undeniably pushes us to achieve many things. Therefore, finding a balance and learning to coexist with anxiety should be our ultimate goal. But in such a world, people would be more relaxed, healthier, and able to enjoy life to the fullest. Creating an environment where anxiety is minimized and well-being is prioritized would be a significant step towards a better, happier world.
